Sprites and Unicorns enjoyed making and decorating some poppies for Remembrance Day. Both classes made a giant poppy and the children also made one of their own to mark 100 years since the end of WW1. https://t.co/mR0jDZ0cId

Year 3 - Ducks and Otters

This half term our topic in year 3 is The Stone Age– a history based topic. We will be looking at all elements of the Stone Age.

As readers we will explore non-fiction texts based on instructions. Please continue to read regularly with your child at home!

As writers we will be writing instructions and learning about the vocabulary and grammar used to convey an appropriate message.

As mathematicians we will focus on place value and all four operations. Pupils will learn to add, subtract, multiply and divide in a variety of contexts. Please continue to help your child become fluent in their times tables.

As scientists we will be exploring rocks.

As explorers, we will be learning about how people lived and where they lived during the stone age.

PE lessons will take place on Monday’s and Tuesday’s (Otters class) and Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s (Ducks Class).  Please ensure pupils have their kit and trainers to run in.

The homework will be given out on a Friday and will be expected back in on Thursday the following week (unless otherwise stated). Spellings will also be taken home on Fridays and the children will be tested the following Thursday.

Finally, we would like you to thank you for your support and remind you that should you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Mr Wildig, Miss Moore & Mrs Hooper
