Sprites and Unicorns enjoyed making and decorating some poppies for Remembrance Day. Both classes made a giant poppy and the children also made one of their own to mark 100 years since the end of WW1. https://t.co/mR0jDZ0cId

Whole school trip to the cinema

Whole school trip to the cinema

Posted: 17th October 2018

Cooks Spinney Primary Academy is taking all of its pupils to Cineworld as part of the Into Film Festival.

In November, Year 2, 3 and 4 will watch Big Bad Fox and Other Tales, Year 5 will watch Captain Underpants and Year 6 will see Mary and Witches Flower.

Headteacher Neil Stirrat said: “Opportunities like this bring learning to life for our pupils.

“We know the cinema can be an expensive trip for families. This trip is completely free as we can also walk to the cinema from our school. The children will be really interested in the types of films we have selected for them.”

The event, sponsored by Film Club and Firstlight, will be followed up with review writing by pupils.

Mr Stirrat said: “Pupils will be able to be critical of what they liked and did not like.

“They will be talking about it for a long time. It’s a brilliant opportunity.”
