Year 5 - Owls and Foxes
Spring Term 2020
Welcome back!. We hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday. We are sure your children are eager to continue improving their skills and understanding. Please note the following information needed to make this term as successful as possible:
This half term our topic is Asia. This topic is a Geography-based topic and we will be focussing on Japan & India respectively. We will also be continuing Music this term following the song "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air".
Year 5 P.E. days continue to be on Mondays & Tuesdays. Your child must have their P.E. kit on these days. Failure to have it is likely to result in them not being able to participate in the lesson. In addition, children will not be able to participate if they do not have the correct P.E. kit. Please see the school website for more information on the P.E. kit requirements. If your child has their ears pierced, they will be required to either take out the earrings or cover them with tape for the lesson. Please remember Cooks Spinney only allows small stud earrings in school.
As you may be aware, Cooks Spinney has adopted an online homework policy. Your child’s Mathletics homework will be set on Thursdays. Reading Eggs is optional; however, we do encourage children to read with an adult at least 3 times per week to build up their vocabulary and comprehension skills. If you do not have access to the internet at home, an after-school homework club is held on Fridays. Spaces are limited so please enquire with the reception office to secure a space for your child.
Any queries please do not hesitate to ask one of the Year 5 team.
