Year 1 - Squirrels and Frogs
Spring Term 2024
YEAR 1 - SQUIRRELS AND FROGS
Well done for a fantastic first term in Year 1! We have had lots of fun already this academic year and cannot wait to continue this in the Spring term.
Please find some useful information below that should answer some questions you may have.
English
The children will be following the Read Write Inc Phonics programme. RWI is a whole-school approach to teaching literacy that creates fluent readers, confident speakers and willing writers. It integrates phonics with comprehension, writing, grammar, spelling and handwriting, using engaging partner work and drama. The children will be assigned to groups according to their level and we will be assessing the children continuously, so that they can move through the groups as they progress.
The children are already working in groups according to their reading level and we will be assessing the children continuously, so that they can move through the groups as they progress. Some children may receive an additional support sheet. Please scan the QR codes so your child can watch them at home.
Please view the videos below for more information about the Read, Write, Inc programme.
